One of the most common ways our patient’s injury themselves is playing sport. This includes, netball, rugby, soccer, gymnastics, cheerleading, basketball, volleyball, football, running, hockey and many more sports. We also see many skiing injuries during the ski seasons!

Common sporting injuries includes:
- Fractures to the upper and lower limb from a direct blow or fall
- Stress fractures from overuse such as running
- ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) tears
- PCL (posterior cruciate ligament)
- MCL (medial collateral ligament) and LCL (lateral collateral ligament) tears
- Meniscal injuries
- Clavicle injuries
- Finger dislocations
- Sprained ankle
- Soft tissue injuries

Access Ortho understands the need to get a rapid assessment and treatment started as soon as possible to minimise the time off the field / court. We know for many patients a quick return to sport, and doing what they love is very important and we will work with you to ensure your recovery runs as smoothly as possible and minimises future injuries.
Should surgery be required, we can discuss the indications for this and can ensure a rapid referral to a surgeon of your choice in the public or private system.
